BBQ Party for Ruth
Sister Ruth paid Western Maryland a visit from Petaluma, CA 7/7 - 7/15/2008. Brother Mac (who lives in our home place in Knapps Meadow) threw a BBQ for her Friday night and did a spectacular job all by himself.

We lay Aunt Edna (McFarlane Johnson)'s ashes to rest today with her parents Samuel & Lizzie (Mom & Pop) McFarlane at Hillcrest Memorial Park. After the beautiful ceremony where Pop sang (from an old 78 Linda found in the Treasure Trove chest) "Up From the Grave He Arose", we lunched together and Connor kept us entertained.

The Thrasher Reunion July 6, 2008
What a fabulous Thrasher Family reunion we had yesterday at Dan's Mountain State Park in Lonaconing, MD. In spite of a threatening weather forecast, we enjoyed a fun day with cousins, aunts and uncles and their spouses. It seemed we had a record number in attendance this year including my soon to be daughter-in-love, Tina, and her fabulous sons Austin and Alex.
Pictured is Julie Chesno with step son Matt Athey, son Dan and his soon to be bride Tina Gray, Austin and Alex.
Lastly, pictured is Mary Margaret (Mimi) Thrasher Brant. We are 1st cousins. She told me yesterday that "O' Dad", our paternal grandfather, named her.
I am going from memory (and a bit of guessing) on labeling the below photos so if you can help me with corrections or labeling, please do.
Thrasher Reunion
Cousin Rosee brought a lot of old photos (thank you Rosee!). This was the first time many of us saw this photo of sweet baby Coleen who died at age 16 months. Aunt Mable confirmed that this is a photo of her sister Coleen. Quote from Mable on 7/6/2008; "Coleen had a leaky heart; she died of pneumonia. Dad used to come home from the mine and greet her by rubbing noses with her. It made Coleen laugh".
Notice O' Mom has made her more comfortable by putting a pillow under her.
